The request and response messages are in a specific format called HTTP message, which consists of a header and a body. The header contains information about the message, such as the type of request, the content type, and the length of the body. The body contains the actual data being transmitted, such as HTML, images, or videos. HTTP uses TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) as its transport protocol, which provides reliable and ordered delivery of data packets. HTTP has evolved over time, with the latest version being HTTP/2, which provides improved performance and security features.
