Storage Media
Storage media refers to the physical devices or components that are used to store data in a computer system. These devices can be classified into two main categories: primary storage and secondary storage. Primary storage, also known as main memory or RAM, is used to store data that is currently being processed by the CPU. Secondary storage, on the other hand, is used to store data that is not currently being used by the CPU, but needs to be retained for future use. Examples of secondary storage devices include hard disk drives, solid-state drives, optical disks, and USB flash drives. The choice of storage media depends on factors such as cost, capacity, speed, and durability. In recent years, there has been a trend towards the use of cloud storage, which allows data to be stored remotely on servers accessed via the internet.
