PET
PET stands for Positron Emission Tomography, which is a medical imaging technique that uses a radioactive tracer to visualize metabolic processes in the body. In PET, a small amount of a radioactive substance, called a radiotracer, is injected into the body. The radiotracer travels to the target tissue or organ and emits positrons, which are detected by a PET scanner. The data collected by the scanner is then used to create a 3D image of the metabolic activity in the body. PET is commonly used in oncology, neurology, and cardiology to diagnose and monitor diseases.
