Dimensional Data Model
A dimensional data model is a type of data model that is designed to support business intelligence (BI) and data analytics applications. It is optimized for querying and analyzing large volumes of data and is based on the concept of a data warehouse. In a dimensional data model, data is organized into dimensions and facts. Dimensions are the categories by which data is analyzed, such as time, geography, or product. Facts are the numerical measures that are being analyzed, such as sales revenue or customer count. The model is designed to be easily understood by business users and to provide fast query performance. It is often used in conjunction with online analytical processing (OLAP) tools and data visualization tools.
