Computer chips, also known as integrated circuits, are electronic components made up of tiny transistors and other circuitry that are used to process and store data in electronic devices. They are the building blocks of modern computing and are found in everything from smartphones and laptops to cars and home appliances. Computer chips are designed using computer-aided design (CAD) software and are manufactured using a process called photolithography, which involves etching patterns onto a silicon wafer. The size of computer chips has been shrinking over time, with the latest chips measuring just a few nanometers in size. This has allowed for more powerful and energy-efficient devices.
