Stream Processing Engines

Stream Processing Engines (SPEs) are software systems that enable the processing of continuous data streams in real-time. They allow for the ingestion, processing, and analysis of data as it is generated, without the need for storing it in a database first. SPEs are designed to handle high volumes of data with low latency, making them ideal for use cases such as real-time analytics, fraud detection, and IoT applications. They typically use parallel processing techniques to distribute the workload across multiple nodes, and provide fault tolerance and scalability. Some popular examples of SPEs include Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Storm.
