Frequency Modulation
Frequency Modulation (FM) is a method of encoding information on a carrier wave by varying the frequency of the wave. In FM, the amplitude of the carrier wave remains constant while the frequency changes in proportion to the modulating signal. This technique is widely used in telecommunications, radio broadcasting, and music synthesis. FM is known for its high-quality sound and resistance to noise interference. It is also used in radar systems and satellite communication. In data science, FM is used in machine learning algorithms such as Factorization Machines, which are used for recommendation systems, click-through rate prediction, and other applications. FM is also used in signal processing and image processing for feature extraction and classification.
