Data Compression
Data compression is the process of reducing the size of a file or data stream without losing any of the original information. This is achieved by encoding the data in a more efficient way, such that it can be stored or transmitted using fewer bits. Data compression is an important technique in data science and artificial intelligence, as it allows for the efficient storage and transmission of large amounts of data. There are two main types of data compression: lossless compression and lossy compression. Lossless compression algorithms preserve all of the original data, while lossy compression algorithms sacrifice some of the original data in order to achieve greater compression ratios. Data compression is used in a wide range of applications, including image and video compression, audio compression, and data storage and transmission.
